This ring is naturally hand-oxidized to create the two-tone appearance. Over time, the oxidation will wear away from the surface of the ring and remain in the grooves of the twig only. This is a completely natural process for silver and should not be considered a defect. The wear of the oxidation depends on each individual's natural body chemistry as well as how often you wear the ring. Wearing it in the shower, washing dishes, etc. will cause the oxidation to fade away faster.
